Puerto Ricans are known for not taking anything too seriously. To localize the brand and connect with our community, Snickers Puerto Rico took advantage of our target’s sense of humor. For every mistake that went trending on the Island, Snickers blamed it on hunger and reacted with a post making fun of the event. By developing relevant content, we were able to awaken our Facebook community, set the standard for real-time marketing strategies and in just a year, evolve from a chocolate brand to a cultural phenomenon (believe me). It’s content has been recognized locally and nationally through awards and the media.
